Biography Brad Shaw - Vocals, Piano
Brad Shaw was born and raised in a suburb just outside of Detroit. Enthralled with the intense drive of live shows and the musical love of the piano, songwriting became a passion for Shaw. He spent 4 years as front man and primary songwriter of the band “Kirkwood”. After hundreds of shows across the Midwest United States, a full length album (sold 1000 copies), and several honors, the band decided to go their separate ways. Brad then allowed his true passion for piano and driving alternative rock shine. He recruited incredible talent from around the Detroit area to record a demo at the famous White Room Studios (Kid Rock, D12) and play a few shows before moving out to Southern California. Before he made the move though, fate struck when Michelle Penn, an artist Shaw had opened up for in Detroit, asked him to do a National House of Blues tour as her guitarist/keyboardist opening up for the Elektra signed artist, Jason Mraz. A month later, they were on the road playing House of Blues venues from coast to coast. Michelle asked Shaw once again to be her guitarist on a West Coast tour opening up for the 80's all girl band The Go Go's just a short time thereafter. Most recently Brad and the Silent Partner have been nominated as Singer/Songwriter of the year for the 2004 LA Music Awards. They are also in the process of finishing up and releasing their debut full length album later this year… The Music... “The Silent Partner’s music can best be described as hard driving power piano rock. The marriage of lyrical vocals, piano and harder alternative music have molded what is a unique and energy driven style. Rooted in a musical background of piano and guitar in addition to a variety of other instruments, Bradford Shaw displays a remarkable aptitude in songwriting skills and musicality, while holding true to his raw, driving edge. His talent lies in creating music that is different and extremely dynamic, yet relatable for his fans." |
